GATHERERS

This right here was my great illustration project in 2011. It is about poverty and how children are forced to fend for themselves as beggars when their parents are laying in their deathbeds because of HIV/Aids. An urban mundane situation typical in South Africa.
Each panel is 1x2m.
Medium is charcoal on paper.
Photograph taken by Hanro Spangenberg during the annual Information Design end-year exhibition.

  1. This is talent, wow. Your approach is very new and creative. I like the one with all the hands. Really symbolises a lot.

I'd like to see some of your work in textbooks as well. Great narratives can be written through observation.

    Keep up the excellent work.

    1. Thank you Matthew. Yes the first panel with the hands can be viewed on its own, but I would love for it to bee seen as a whole with the others though. The message it brings will just be so much bigger!

I would love for some of my illustration techniques or even social commentary to be published in books, magazines, or text books (together with my own view of course).

Thank you! More posts of my work coming soon.
